Default Canadian MOOSE

Here are a couple of pics from moose hunting season in New Brunswick, Canada. The season lasts only 3 days and you need to have your name drawn in a lottery to get a license. My stepfather (standing left) has put in for one for 25 years and never been drawn. My stepbrother got his this year. They bagged this bull estimated at about 1000 lbs live weight (800 dressed) earlier this month. My uncle had his license last year and they actually got one slightly larger....near 1100 lbs. Left to right standing is stepfather, brother-in-law, stepbrother, and uncle. Unknown guy seated.....

He was taken near the road and close to their camp so it was easy to bring the John Deere around and pull it to the road and into a truck.

Sean......can only have it when I go up to Canada to visit. You can't bring it over the border unless you are the hunter and even then you need to go through paperwork to do so.

Pretty cool, I have a friend out hunting for one of those right now. Can't remember where he was going though (in the states) but I told him he'd better bring some back for the smoker 8)
