Hello:
Well I ran the motor today for the first time and just loved it. But I hate the balance of the boat so it's time to get started in making some needed adjustments. Here's the before ![]() After a couple of minutes with a Sawzall (Greatest tool ever invented) ![]() Transferring the gas out of the current tank location ![]() And here is where I think the new one will go. Need to do a little testing first to make sure though. ![]() There are lots more detailed Pics in my gallery for anyone interested. Kamikaze

Kami, Gook work and keep us posted on your weight & balance findings. On my boat, there's a fish box compartment in the same location. I modified it to the bare hull for more space just like you are doing. Looking for same answer you are looking for, I filled it with water and what a difference it made in the ride. If you can move the tank forward, I think you're going to like the ride. Then again, try it out first with a portable tank.

Will keep you posted. Any idea about how much water you have in the fish box? I plan on experimenting on the portable and bags of cement to account for a 40-50 gallon tank. Good to hear it improved your ride. I take it no problems with spinning out the prop when weighted down upfront? Kamikaze

It all looks good but do you have any concerns with a tank that forward in the boat. I'm not sure if it is an issue but the very front of a boat takes the most pounding and is a tank like that able to handle that type of constant pounding? Just thought I would throw that out there.

Hey all,
I just bought a 1975 Wellcraft V-20 Fisherman center console with a 1983 235hp Johnson O/B that I am fixing up and have to re-do the whole floor because it's soft. I'd like to put a new, larger gas tank in the floor (currently in console), like a 70-80 gallon poly tank, and could use some advice on what will fit, running fuel lines and filler tube, possible smaller/better console that will save some room, etc. Anything you could offer would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Kenny FYI: Didn't know this site existed and just love it!
