I've got a bimini that stands up when not in use (see my gallery). I was wondering if anyone has attempted putting the clamp-on type rod holders on the support poles or the top back bar of their bimini. It seems like with some reinforcing, this would seem doable. Any suggestions or advice?

Rick, went to the galley didn't see the photo with the top, but I don't think mounting rod holder to bimini is a good idea to many weak points. Most are mounted with small screws into wood or alumn window frame ?? Crusher

Airborne, you'd probly get away with STORING a rod that way, but I wouldn't troll from it...seems to me it's gonna be painful in the arse end when stowing the top, too.....

Thanks for the replies!
Well...I'm going to reinforce my mounting hardware and install a couple for storage purposes. Since I don't have a boot, it won't cause any problem when I fold the top back. It'll be a month before I get this done, but I'll post the results and a pic or 2 when completed. Hey MJ, what kind of catfish is that? ;) |
