I bid on this item on eBay, but it didn't meet the reserve and/or the seller created a dummy buyer to end the auction.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT I bid $1500, looking to steal it. (Yes, it's a 25" shaft.) Auction ended last week and I didn't think anything of it since I knew right away I was outbid. I got a 'second chance' email today and if I interpret it correctly, the seller is offering it to me at the $1500 bid. I think this'd be a fine engine to hang onto the new-to-me Steplift that I'm picking up on Monday: aside from price factor, it's a proven block, 10 years newer than the one that's coming with the boat, 0 hrs. on the powerhead (reportedly), stainless prop.... I replied that I was interested, but wasn't commiting to it. Should I commit? The flywheel job that I need for the motor that comes w/ the boat is going to run me a good chunk of the $1500 purchase price on this nearly-new motor. I think I already know the answer... ;) |

I wouldn't . . . If he rebuilt that engine like he rebuilt the transom on that boat . . . I'd stay away. ;)

Maybe that's just a dummy boat, for displaying the engine. What's off-camera is that the boat is a derelict, sitting in some remote corner of the boatyard and is overgrown with weeds, like a Chia pet. ;D
