Default GPSmap 76S

Does anyone have one of these?

Is it possible to input co-ordinates into the gps and create a way point. I only know how to mark points once I'm actually there. But I have this wicked Nautical Satellite Imagery program that can give me co-ods, so I then want to input the co-ods into the gps and let it set a course for me to get there?

I hope this makes sense...

Thanks

Mudda,

I have a Garmin GPS 76. I was going to try and do what your talking about to make sure it works but I havn't had time. I think you can go to the page that gives you all the info on a waypoint, highlight the cooridnates and enter new numbers and save them as a new waypoint. Do you not have the manual, If not , it looks like you can download them from the Garmin website.? I hope I didn't confuse the crap out of you. I'll try this out later. It's been a long time since Iv'e messed with mine.

Good Luck,
Scott

Try holding down the "goto" button and wait a few seconds. A "mark" screen will pop up and then enter the digits you want to in it. That is how my Magellan works.

I've got the GPSMAP 76 w/ Bluecharts. It's great . . . I use it all the time.

With Bluecharts you can make routes/mark waypoints on your computer and upload them to the GPS.

It's as simple as clicking on the chart and adding a waypoint.
Adding a route is just "add route" and clicking on the map a few times until you get where you want to go.
