Default Hello to all the V20 owners!

Hi All!
Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Curt and I have just bought a 1986 V20 with an I/O. It originally had the V6 4.3 but I am currently replacing it with a 5 liter LX V8 Mercruiser. ( Sorry, I like power)javascript:grin()

Anyone out there who has the V8 I/O I'd like to ask you how you like it, and if they really dig in when you first accelerate...Thanks

I can't wait to try her out, but we just had our first dusting of snow last night. It's going to be a long winter..
Everyone I have talked to says the ride of the V20's is great, and these boats handle well. I'll watch the forums and see what everyone else thinks...See ya..Curt

most v-20 owners on this board have outboard power, and of course I/O power. Both power plants have their pluses and minuses, one thing for sure....you're going to love that hull. Just got mine this past April and I'm still braggin' about it. I've got a 150 Johnson and it's got plenty of power....but, it could definetly handle more. Good luck and welcome, lotsa sharp guys here that know their boats.

Welcome Curt. It may just be a weight thing on the holeshot, then once on plane, she levels out.
Where abouts on the Cape are you located? Good to see other locals on here. 8)

Hey chumbucket, and others,

I'm in Barnstable near Hyannis. Maybe we'll see you out there sometime. I try to hang out on the Northside near Sandy Neck. I'm always trying to get the ever-elusive striper.

I was originally looking for the outboard version of the V20, but this one came by and I liked it. I had a Mako 20, but I needed the cuddy. We'll see next spring.

Thanks to all for the replies!!

Curt

Hello from The South...Ya know Curt, I've found that V20s are just like navels...some are ''innies'' and some are ''outties''... ;)...but in the words of the ''Hardest workin' man in showbusiness'', Mr. James Brown; ''It's ALL good!''... 8)...

Anyway, you'll find some other V20ers who gotta have that ''shower of power''...Skools Out has been threatening hangin' twin 225s on his for a while, so don't hold back on the ''power'' thing...is that a new Mercruiser or didja find a good used one?...take some pictures of the conversion and post 'em here...we like to watch... ;D...hope all the work goes well for ya, an if ya think a question's too dumb to ask, trust me, one dumber has already been posted...most likely by me... ::) ;)...
