Default Is this a good deal?

1979 v20
dual axle Galv. roller trailer
2000- 150hp Johnson

$4500

I have only saw 1 picture of this boat and it looks decent. I have no idea of the condition of the boat but the motor comes with a 30 day warranty and the boat has a bimini.

For the motor to have a 30 day warranty, it sounds like maybe a rebuild. If so, depending on who did the rebuild (reputable establishment or average Joe) would tell me whether to consider it or to walk away. I know I wouldn't want a motor that had been rebuilt by me cause I'm not a seasoned motor-rebuilder!

A rebuilt motor can be good, or it can be bad in my opinion. Depends on a lot of things.

Sounds like a good deal if the motor checks out and transom, floor, and stringers are solid.

Compression check, compression check, COMpression check...did I mention having the motor's compression checked?...if that's good, buy it...price is OK...provided trailer's not a rust-bucket and floor/transom is solid...look it over , crawl under it...don't be afraid to ask questions... ;) :)..

also ck the lower unit for water!!

This is boating season!! If after you look it all over and think it is a go request a boat ride!!

If he wants to sell he will give you the ride. You can only tell so much about a motor on a hose!

$4500 is not bad at all if all is well!

Grab the motor and lift up on it, if the transom moves at all you will have work to do.
Use a rubber mallet to tap for soft spots in the hull and floor.
Go there with crap clothes and get on the ground and under and hammer away.
Do the same above deck to the floor.

Ask for the compression test while you are there, it just takes a couple of min. Ask for all services records.
Motor might be just fine and never rebuilt?

I have a 89 Yamaha thats has never been done over and it goes great!

good luck

Guys I should have mentioned that this boat is at a dealer. The only thing I keep thinking is, if this boat is a good deal why hasn't sold. I will update tomorrow if thy send me more pictures as I requested.

Sounds like a good price price if all is well. I first saw my boat at a dealer for $5,000. A couple of weeks later I saw it somewhere else for $4,000. Ended up giving $3,500. My point is the price might be padded at the dealership, it never hurts to try and talk them down. Just my 2 cents.

Have you driven by the gas pumps lately? Lots of boats for sale right now. It's a buyers market right now and I'm looking again. Who knows?
