Default Is it O.K. to drill holes here?

Hey guys,

I'm sure Iv'e ask this question before but.......I'm getting ready to re-mount my "gunrack" style rod holders up against the gunwhales inside the boat. I want to know if it's o.k. to screw to the bulkhead just forward of the fuel tanks (76' model).

Thanks,
Scott

That liner is pretty tuff!! I see no problem with it (75) I have taken 1 1/2 PVC and cut it and screwed it to the liner and i have my paddle, gaff, net, stern light, fish sticker and stuff there works great!!
Just use screws just long anough to do the job (Liner allow 1/4" of screw) and don't over tighten!!!!! *Or use toggle bolts, again with as short a bolt as you can so you are not rubbing on the hull.

I will see if I have a pic with them full of stuff, But this is when I was doing the boat over and I had all out of the boat.

the liner goes up under the gunnel and is held toghter with the screws that hold the rub rail and cap to the hull.

so as long as you stay below the gunnel your fins as it tapers up to meet the hull further up.

What scares me is ''WHERE'' THE LINER IS AND WHERE IT'S NOT...when I relocated the fuel vents there was NO LINER where the old ones came out...single thickness there...but obviously not where MJ mounted his stuff (great idea, MJ)...So my question is: ''where it is? and where it ain't?""... ::) ;)...

Rap,

I see what waht your'e saying about the fuel tank vents. I have that original set up. I haven't looked at it that close though. With that said MJ has the same year as mine. What I'm wanting to do is screw a bracket (2 screws) to hold the bottom of the rod holders.
