Default Live Well Info

Listen any of you guys got the in floor live well thats all the way back hard against the transom wall. When you lift the lid it is round inside.
Reason why I ask is that is what is in my boat and I am trying to sort it out.
I have a thru hull bronze water pickup, and an in line bronze valve which is closed. Then I have an in line type Rule pump that says bait well or wash down. The hose comes off this and runs into the side and goes up way past the in wall rod holders and seems connected to something, can't pull it free. Don't go nowhere near the live well which is just a few inches in front of the bildge on the other side of the rear bulkhead. ??? Inside the live well theres nothing but a drain hole molded into the bottom rear and not connected to anything. No fitting just a drain hole. No other hole for an intake, nothing. Can't figure what the set up is supposed to be with that. Was hoping to get the live well up and running this week but it just doesn't make any sense like that, I do not have nor does the boat appear to ever have had a wash down set up .

I haven't seen one??

But it sounds like the thru hull goes to a shut off or deverter, that will fill the live well or go to the wash down.
The hole in the live well drains to the bildge and your bildge pump gets rid of it.

As for the thing you can't reach behind the rod holders, there must be a conntor or something for a wash down hose.

Might have to remove the rod holders to get to it??

Now were are the pictures???

Willy, regardless of how this livewell thing works out, you ARE unique, I'll say that w/ out question... ;) 8)...

We've seen only a few of the round in-floor tanks on the board and I don't recall details on how any were plumbed...the hose that disappears into the gunwale "probably" goes to a fitting where the washdown hose would attach (or used to)...you may have to remove rod-holder box as MJ suggests to find out...let us know how it shakes out ;)...

Thanks on the pic, thats what I have minus the plumbing.
For all you guys who wondered I spoke with Rich (Fillet 1) today and he is doing fine, has not bought a boat, thinking about picking up a small Whaler to trailer to a couple of spots.
I found out the mystery hose set up was for a wash down system that used to be installed under where there is now a knife plier type tool rack on the side. Fillet did not want the system. The live well was never plumbed from the factory he used it for storage only.
He said that if water was in there he felt it would not be deep enough to keep it from splashing out as the boat rocked and after looking at it I agree. plus I'm getting to stiff in the joints for kneeling down fishing out bait every time I need more.
So I am in the market for an aftermarket type independent bait tank that I will figure out how to plumb.
Got all the teak done today (pretty)
And MJ I will get pics as soon as I can, don't have a digi camera.
ByGrace thanks for the time brother.
And Oz you called it, your pretty smart for a southern boy ;D Previous wash down system

Hey Willy, Maybe you can find a round baitwell that'll fit in the opening of the floor, than mak a filler piece for the deck.

http://www.catchnbait.com/livebaitwells.html

That way it could be pretty big, only there whem you need it and taller too so you would not have to crawl all over the deck

I'm likeing those Bud, thanks. Does not look like they pump fresh water in, just have an aerator like a fish bowl, but you might be able to change that

Would solve all my problems in one fell swoop ::)

since you already have the pump and such, it would be easy to plumb it in
