ANYONE PUT VENTS IN THERE DOG HOUSE, MOTOR COVER THAT IS ON THERE I/Os was just thinking of getting heat out of there

I've got vents here:
![]() I think most Wellcrafts have them on the sides just below the gunnals? That should be sufficient. Putting vents on your engine cover will just increase the noise level of your boat. |

i have to say i took her out sat for a test run with the cover off very little noise, i have the side vents but i just want to keep motor box cool

Capt., I hear ya loud and clear...but I got a feelin' if those boxes needed to be vented, Wellcraft or somebody on this board woulda done it by now...I bet the water flowin' thru the block is ample coolin' ...not that I don't applaud innovation and tryin' new stuff, but I think you're gonna spend some time and money and not accomplish much...
...of course the above is JMHO... ;) ;D...

I know in NC I/O's have to have vents with a blower by law to remove dangerous fumes that could cause a fire.
Not on the motor cover itself though.
