Default Closest Awlgrip color match?

Do you guys happen to know the closest matching Awlgrip color for my 76' V-20 cuddy? I was thinking about trying to match my hull gelcoat color when I paint my topside. I'm feeling the squeeze to get back on the water and think my gelcoat will clean up good but I don't want two different colors of white. Thanks in advance.

Scott

I can't give you exact Awlgrip color for your '76, but I selected "whisper gray" from awlgrip for my new bracket from Armstrong for an '86 hull. I haven't seen it yet *>:(, but it will be here next week and I'll confirm. I picked the color by looking at the palate on the "color card" section of the awlgrip webpage and then I overlayed a picture from my gallery on this page and compared all the different grays and silvers. "Medium silver" was the second closest match as far as my eyes could tell. One thing's for sure, the guys at Armstrong could not recommend a color for me, I had to do it myself. Good luck.

Hi Scott,

I am thinking of using "Awlgrip" topcoat on my 84 V20. (see my current thread in "Repairs") Did you find out a close "Awlgrip" color match to your gelcoat? I went on the website http://www.minicraft.com and they listed gelcoat colors for 1985 Wellcraft. No 1984. How did your come out??

Hey Geekie,

I ended up using a paint by ICI.....Devoe 379 two part enamel. That Awlgrip was just way too expensive for me. The paint I used on my boat is the same stuff I use at work to paint our equiptment. I have complete confidence in this paint, I painted it almost a year ago and it looks like the day I sprayed it.

I brought a color pallet home frome the store and matched it up it ended up being called "white wing", yeah I know, sounds like a freaki'n tampon name or something ;D.
