Back from Sunset...

Great time at beach last week...weather gods smiled on us all week long!!... ;D ;D...Hooked up w/ labii and got a great tour of Southport NC from the water side of course...S'port about an hour up the "ditch" from sunset...damm if I didn't run 'er up on a sand bar goin' up :o ::)...now the paint is REALLY off the skeg :P ...

Had a great time w/ labii...he drove my V around the front of Baldhead Island to Cape Fear...he showed me some great fishin' holes for future reference...later I took his CC down the ditch...his 2-stroke CC JUMPS outta the hole compared to my 4-stroke Cuddy (same HP )...

One of the main things we talked about is how to get a bunch of guys from the board in one place for a V-20 flotilla 8) 8)...then we talked about how good the cheeseburgers and onion-rings and COLD BEER are at the Provision Co... ;) ;D ;D...

Just wish we'd had more time and a freakin' CAMERA!! ::)...

Love it when Snaggers get together, shame you didn't have a photo of you two together would have been nice.Glad you guys had good weather, and about that flotilla, lets talk ;D

Yeah, I could kick my transom for gettin' up there w/ out a camera...from the time labii and I started talkin' about it, I's thinkin' camera, but forgot on the way out the door...I did remember to put a little gas in the boat ;D ...

We GOTTA get some more guys together some way...I'm sure you and Franco had a great time...labii and I weren't in S'port but a few hours, but it was super gettin' together w/ someone from the board (kinda like meetin' somebody famous you'd only read about ;))...Franco and I NEARLY had a meetin' last year and some things got in my way... :-/...anyhow, as crafty as this crowd is, we oughtta be able to come up w/ somethin' 8) ...

Anybody wanna start a collective travel fund?... 8) ...look what the sale of a few goodies did recently for MJ's motor...that was pretty impressive and I think fairly painless...could start sockin' away for a trip next spring...maybe I can remember to bring a camera by then ::) ...Cherry Point was soundin' good ;D ;D...

I never got much of a response to my suggestion of doing a more regional type thing, north south and an in-betweener. Where guys from further away can hook up with closer guys and fish in their boats, save guys long distance tows which I think is the biggest problem for everyone. Would make for some shining times and get guys together, be a fairly inexpensive fishing trip. If we camped somewhere would be even cheaper, a la Cherrystone or used inexpensive notells or even rented a house in group for a week.
Y'all think about it ;)

Thats not a bad idea!! Everyone can send cash to a (tersure to be named later) like a xmas club.

Then we make a resavation at some park hotel what ever and the fund pays for it.
We all meet for a long week end and have a ball!!

Change area each year, and use the boats that are in the region each year.

We had a blast , the onion rings and burgers were on time , beer was cold , weather was great , and Reelapeelin's Honda was humming like a Singer sewing machine . Southport is about a hour run south for me as well . I had not been down there for a while and it was great . A lot of development going on down there now and I hope that they don't over do it as happens so often .
We are going to get together again next year and would love to have some of you guys join us .

Wish I could have made it. Sounds like ya'll had a good time snaggin around the ditch. RAP - when labii said, "let's go bar hopping" I don't think he meant sand bar!! ;D Oh well, with that newly polished skeg I bet you get another mile an hour outta the old girl ;)

Was it just you a llabi on the boat(s) or did ya'll have families with you etc? Catch any flattie? Hear they are biting the beach off just about everywhere right now.

Yup, just me 'n labii...we were dockin' both boats at Provision Co about 11:00...NOBODY there...decided to take mine for a cruise of S'port 8) ...got back about an hour later to big crowd and great music...that place is GREAT...REEL BURGERS FOR SURE!!..."get in my belly!"....

Wish ya coulda made it, too, Dawg...2 Vs were neat...3 inna row woulda been AWESOME...I'd BOUGHT a camera... ;D ;D...

Still not gettin' over how much more nimble labii's CC w/ a 2-stroker is... 8)...
