something ya'll might be interested in

i have been kicking around an idea for a 'kids' fishing rodeo for a while. hurricane katrina left a lot of families displaced. we have thousands of families crammed into fema trailer parks all over the coast. as is usualy the case, it's the children who suffer the most.
what i would like to do is round up as many boaters as i can find who are willing to take some of these kids fishing. i dont know about ya'll, but when i'm fishing i dont think too much about the problems of everyday life. and that might be just what some of these kids need. we could make it a rodeo and give some sort of prizes to the kids, if i am able to raise enough money. if not, just going fishing should be prize enough for most of these unfortunate children. if i can field 20 boats, two kids on each, two trips a day, thats 80 kids that can participate on a weekend. sure, this wont rebuild thier homes, but it will show them that people care. and, more importantly, the wonders of gods blessings that we so often take for granted.
i would love for this to be an all v20 event. but, i realize that it is just too far for most of you guys to travel. so i will be at the boat launches trying to round up as many locals as possible. but, keep in mind, this is a charity event and any and all expenses are subsequently tax deductible! if any of you guys are interested feel free to contact me any time.

racerx, your heart's sure in the right place...I suggest threadin' your proposal on "The Hull Truth"...I just don't believe you can field as many boats as you need in that location from this board alone...

If you put that together, screen your boaters well...it'd be a terrible thing to have one of those kids get hurt by a careless boater ;) ::) ...

yea bud, i thought i would start here for that very reason. i found plenty of peeps willing. not so many with insurance.
