Well my dive partner and I had a falling out over secret dive numbers. So his new gps unit wont be on my boat. So I might run out a get the Garmin 76 model. It fits the budget. Any feed back on this unit ??

Got a friend who's wife got him a 76 for HoHo Day couple of years back(I recommended)...great unit and great price now...she paid 300 back then... ;) ;D...I'd say get it, but my real hope is you and your dive-buddy can patch things up...good friends are hard to find...

Can't go wrong with a Garmin!! I used a handheld for years before getting a dash mount.
Always on the money!! and it wasn't even a chart, just for numbers

Looks like I'll be driving to West Marine today for it.
Looking for something that shows my way back. and shows where I am at.
Well as far as the dive buddy goes, I was wanting him to convert the secret dive wreck numbers to gps from Loran. He was dragging his feet so I had a charter boat capt. convert the numbers. He had a fit thinking the wrecks will be dove on other then him. My capt. friend only runs fishing charters and has been fishing those spots for years i was told.
REEl; Pawleys was great, hit a bar called the Bowery, wife hit the nudey bar and three lap dances and I came home with some southern flags, shirts and stickers. Would love to name my boat Lewestown Rebel with the southern flag on her, but I might get a few bad looks ;D
We caught alot of bait fish, but no king Fish. I'll be back down in Oct. for another try at it. 8)

I have a 76, great machine. The one shown in the pic is a Map 76, a chart plotter. The GPS 76 is not, but it does come standard with all of the aids to navigation.I have had for a couple of years. I strongly recomend it . I bought mine from Cabelas. They had/have a deal where you can get the GPS, Garmin case, some cable and a Ram Mount for $220. The Ram mount is pretty nice.

You may get some looks from the unknowing.

The people who do not know the history of Del.

But, if you know the history, it just fits.
