hey all you long island guys, west marine in huntington lost their lease and will close their doors in 10 days. aint alot left but there are some boat shoes and a ton of foul weather gear. some seats... i grabbed a couple of b & m jump seats i saw in the catalog for $149.99. paid $24. bucks each. got a starboard swim platform without hardware for $18. bucks. its pretty much hit or miss but worth the drive. pair of west marine boat shoes for $3. bucks.

I was just by there yesterday, about a mile away at a trailer shop. Had I known about the store closin' up I sure would have stopped in. Never much cared for the W.M. ......seems like the entire staff at a home depot.....throw on a blue shirt or an orange smock and pretend like you know something..." uuuh, it should work, you can always return it".....no thanks. I did however score pretty good at the trailer shop, I first got beat over the head for a double roller assembly.....70.00$.....the good news was that I scored 2 new 15" galv. rims with 2 brand new "st" trailer tires, mounted, for 60.00 a piece. I couldn't pass that up. :)

phester, like it or not, with a west marine about a mile from my house, when in need there isnt always a choice.
tell you the truth, internet supply houses, after figuring in the shipping, arent much better in terms of price. and when you need it you need it.
i believe you said you were in kings park... not that far. might be worth another drive out there. i think i also saw some trailer parts, but wasnt really looking for them so didnt really pay them much mind.

Just my two cents worth,
The Home Depot and Lowes and West Marine in Lewes/ Rehoboth, Del are not normal.
They actually staff the stores with people who are willing
to help, they are knowledgale and if they can't help,
they will find someone that can.
I actually enjoy visiting these stores in Delaware,
because the HD and Lowes in my hometown are just like you
said, they just can't be bothered to help.
