Default 82 wellcraft v-20 cuddy

hello i just picked up an 82 v-20 cuddy and had a few questions about it. first off i need a motor for this boat and was wondering what size shaft would i need for this year? i have access to an 87 suzuki 200 hp for 800.00 bucks. even commpression, runs great around 300 hours, includs all controls sounds like a good deal. this motor is a 20 inch shaft.
also anyone put a bigger tank than a 60 gallon in there v-20? and would it fit? the boat was free by the way been sitting for a few years just needs good cleaning.

Measure from the center of the transom down to the keel beneath the plug and you'll have either 20' or 25". Biggest tank factory for a V-20 was 60 gallons. I know of one that has 85 custom but that was after stringer and deck work. Welcome aboard.

From were the motor bracket sits on the boat to the bottom of the transom under the drain, is what shaft you need.

If it is a 25 don't give up on that motor!! They sell extension kits that will make it a 25.

But they cost like $600 and can be done in about 2 hours!!
