Default Dodged BULLET!!

Brought boat home from Hartwell to get motor fixed...about to leave to take it back...1.5 hrs on interstate...noticed 1 tire on trailer looked "funny"...got to lookin' closer and tread goin' WILD :o ... looked more like dunkin donut than a tire...two huge knots on outter tread and entire tread width distorted...at tire dealer now to be evaluated for warranty coverage...will find out tomorrow...GLAD I didn't get on the interstate w/ it or I'd have been in the "E" lane for sure :P ...

Reel, thank goodness you're ok.

I sorta kinda dodged a bullet today today too. I "confessed" to Janine that I had purchased a stereo for the V yesterday. She was upset for a few minutes but seems to be over it now as she is walking around the house humming a cheerful tune. I think the fact that I waited until after the evening cosmopolitan helped.

It's all about the timing...

Mulv...Yepper, they're Marathons alright...but do I think you made a mistake?...Heck NO!! I think you've got the best trailer tire on the market and the one LEAST LIKELY to have a problem like this...and most likely to have mfgr stand behind it ;) ...

I've put a LOTTA miles on these tire...LONG trips to Florida(11 hrs one way), to Sunset(5.5hrs) and untold trips to lakes all over SC and this is the 1st issue of any sort...

...and now that Ive had time to think this out, I saw this beginning when I was at the beach in early April...so even after this started, it held up on the way home and to the lake and back...

If faced w/having to buy a new set today, it'd be these tires, w/out question...

Flats on a boat trailer are no fun.

When I first got my Starcraft I had a blowout on US 74 in the middle of no where. The jack for the truck wouldn't lift the trailer high enough to get the spare on, it was about 100 degrees, and I had my family with me. I put the wife holding the baby standing by the road waiving down large pickups.

Finally a guy with a new dodge pu stopped and I got the spare on.

Since then I carry a floor jack and big lug wrench with my boat.
