Default WTB -  trailer for my V20

Hello,
I am the new owner of an '88 V20 outboard model .... and am seeking a trailer to slide under her. If anyone has something used they are looking to sell - I would be interested in hearing about it.
Thank you,
Brian

Congratulations Brian. Where'd you find it and what's it like? I don't have a trailer, but I paid $800 about 2-yrs ago for the solid dual axle Load Rite doohickey under my boat in the Gallery. I bought it from Stamford Boats in Stamford, CT. The owners name is "Clem" and he usually has stuff laying around for good prices so long as you're not a perfectionist and can do some work on your own (i.e. rewiring).

CT,
Thank you. After looking for about a year, I finally found a boat I could be happy with and bought it. Its the boat discussed in a previous posting as a"project" boat. On EBAY, it was located in New Haven. Went to look at it - and the boat appeared to me in very good condition. Of course, it is missing seats, a cover over the front storage area by the seats, and there is the hull split. The 12" long split is located on the first chine ? away from the keel and midway along the length of boat. Right under the gas tank I believe. A friend said I should not be worried ... and that we could successfully repair it. There is some gel coat damage to other areas of the boat bottom. My plan all along was to find an older boat I could patch up - and then paint with AWLGRIP. So, for the price ... I think I found a solid project boat. Of course, I still would prefer a "closed" transom style with a motor bracket - so I may just fix this boat up and keep my eye open for another. Either way, I was excited when I became the "owner" of this V20 - love this boat style ... and this forum of course.
Brian

Awesome. Good luck. I've been making the boat show circuit around here (Hartford and Westchester) and there is simply nothing out there that is set up as good as the V-20. I like the HydraSports DC202 and you can get a new one with a Yamaha 150 four stroke for $30k. I've given it serious thought because I am going to have to repower my boat and a carbed 150 is $9k and throw in a new bracket (I solved my slip problems discussed in another post here) and controls and labor and I'm going to be in the $15k range for the repower. So is it worth and extra $15k for new everything else and no wood in the hull? If I could find a hull I liked as much as my V-20 I'd do it, but I can't find anything I like as much. So, good luck with the "new" boat and hopefully I'll see you on the Sound some time. There's enough of us around here that we could organize a rally.
