Happy father’s day!!!

As many of you know, I lost my dad back in early 2012. Most holidays have never been the same for me, but this is a big one. Many times, we would spend the morning drifting for fluke and then go for breakfast/lunch. Then we’d get together with aunts, uncles and cousins and fire up the grill, or bring in takeout or something.
Those days are gone and with them, much of the spark of the day. Oh, I’ll still spend some time with my boys, if they’re not too busy and my mom is staying with us for the summer..... but I went to visit my dad last week and it was pretty sh!tty to just stand there in front of a $5,000 dollar grave marker. He always said, don’t visit me when I’m dead. Come see me while I’m still alive. I did as much as I could, but we never really thought he would go. We figured he would just sit on the couch, wrapped in his giant’s jacket and nap away.
If you guys still have your father, spend as much time with him as you can. LIFE IS SO SHORT!!!!!! I never thought that to be true. I thought we’d all last forever! Now, here I am, 3 short years away from retirement and feeling a bit older every day.
