Hello all I am new to the forum I have owned a 1990 v20 dual hull before i am interested in this one locally the motor is great and the boat is overall solid besides the floor is soft especially around the gas tank an console t top screws I hate T tops they are meant to rip floors off anybody out there have an idea or guestimate on how much it would be to re do the floor on this V20 the seller is asking 6500 boat motor an galvanized trailer. The transom seems solid i hung off the motor while tilted up an didnt notice any flex the entire boat moved as i rocked up and down on the tilted up motor any ideas on the floor? I attached a video its not the best and pics but the deck has many soft spots

Cool

Hi Alan. Welcome aboard. Good looking boat. The engine is a little long in the tooth, but solid as long as taken care of. I have the same series on my V20. As to the floor, most times soft floors are caused by long term moisture under the deck rotting away the wood backing that is glued to the underside of the floor. Wellcraft didn't do too good a job of sealing the wood, if they sealed it at all. The fix is to remove the deck, scrape away all the old wood and glue new marine plywood to it, then put a thin layer of fiberglass over the whole thing to seal it properly. FOR THE FUTURE... always open the deck hatched when the boat is on the trailer so that any moisture can evaporate. This is especially true when the boat is under canvas for the winter. In fact, it's a good idea to put a small fan on a timer over one of the holes to blow air under the deck for a few hours every day to help speed up the evaporation.

Hi Alan welcome to our club I am a wellcraft fan I love my boat but looking at the one your thinking of buying to me the hull looks to be in ruff shape, I think 6500 might be to high I would offer that person 4000 , they would probably say no but leave them your number and walk , you can always go back, now if the hull was in good shape then I would go for it go for it for 5700
