Along with my 20's I have a 15 foot wooden runabout. Went out with a friend yesterday, dropped some crab traps, fished a bit boat ran perfect. Got home hooked up the muffs, no tell tale (pee). I know it was working the last time I started it, must have gave up the ghost as I ran pretty fast back to the launch.
Ordered the kit yesterday, plan to take it apart today, I've done this with mercury's & mercruisers but not an evinrude, I have the manual. Any pitfalls I should watch out for?, the shift shaft looks straightforward to disengage. At least it's much lighter than my 200!

stick a pice of heavy fishing line in the pisser, you probably just got some sand in theer. If its been more than two years since you put a pup in it, it needs it anyway

tried that, compressed air too.
Also tried to get a wrench on that *$*** shift shaft bolt for an hour, I give. Taking it to my mechanic. I got crab traps in the water & can't fool around too long.

Cudo's to spare & my mechanic too, you both reminded me to check for obstructions which I had done, but before I took it to the shop, I figured I'd try again. All good! This is a problem I've had a couple times with this engine, at least this was a cheap fix.
