I have a 1981 merc 200hp. The trim/tilt relay must have went bad. The motor will trim up but nothing happens when I try to lower it. Question is how do I manually drop the motor to the vertical position? I don't see a screw on the right side of the bracket like newer motors have.
It will drop below freezing tonight so any help would be greatly appreciated

Does that have the seperate trim pump mounted inside the splash well/transom? Sometimes you can swap the working relay for the non-working relay

Yes it has the separate pump

I got it to go down, switched the wires on the pump itself and the up button brought the motor down.

Good news, problem might be in switch then.

For future reference, on that style crack the 2 lines loose, and down she will go. I'm not aware of a release on them as all you have to do is open the lines.
