Donor has FAILED
Well it looks like I am in it for the long run!! My donor has FAILED! She is putting out to much protine, which is a sign of weak kidneys. She said that they said might be because she smokes?? Nurses at my place said they never heard that before, I will ask my doc when he makes rounds on Wed.??
She said she is stoping smoking today, and going back in 3 weeks for another test? Never heard of a smoker that just quits over night? O well I have 1 to 3 years on the list to wait, we will get there!

Sorry to hear that joe. At least you've done all you can do and gotten all your ducks lined up. Don't fret over what you can't control. Your in the system now, better than you were 6 months ago. Had a friend who needed a liver, nearest transplant hospital is In in Jacksonville , he had to live in a campground in a pop-up camper for about a year waiting on a donor. Least your close to family and home,

Joe, very sorry to hear of the setback. Hang in there my friend. Things will get better.
As for the smoking thing. Yes, it's possible. I found out that I had high blood pressure. Doc said it was from smoking 2 packs a day. Said I needed to stop if I wanted to live. I stopped that night after smoking almost 40 years. (Smoked since I was 13 years old). That was 20 plus years ago. Yes, it's possible to stop like that. it's called will power. You simply tell yourself that you don't do that anymore when you get the urge to light up. And yes, since nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known, and since your body never looses it's craving for it, I still get the urge to smoke every now and then. You just have to say no.

Thanks guys!! I would be lieing if I said I wasn't disapointed! But its gona be whats it gona be, nothing I can do about it.
I know people just shut smoking off like a switch, but not all. She has gone a long way to get this far, and she was crying when she told me!!! But she statedf she was quiting and going back in about a month to be retested?? We will see?? I thankef her for all she has done and said I hope this did not uncover anything wrong with her!!! Hope she will be fine! We will just wait and see what happens from here? Keep the prayers coming!!
