Default Right up Skool's alley....

While looking around I found this in my V20 search...

http://www.boats.com/listing/boat_de...p;showMD=false

Wow, I didn't realize the link was that long.... :-/ Anyway, it looks a little misplaced, but a boat listed to go 90+ (and labeled a V20) seemed like something to share ;D

Whoa...you ain't kiddin about the length of that link.

That boat is pretty cool, never heard of it, especially that Reggie Jackson engine ??? I like the way the helm is on the port (left side for you landlubbers) side like a car.

Is that V-trap or death-trap? 600hp in a 21' boat? Not for your average weekend warrior. Hmmm? :o
Some fool will buy that and damn near kill themselves.
Pretty cool though. 8)

WOW : I heard a rumor a couple of years ago from an old navy seal guy that the navy modified a few v20's with some big displacement blocks putting out 400 + ponies. Said he ran the boats and they were wild. Claimed the navy used them for recon rigs. Said the boats were cut up around 1980 and replaced with inflatables.

Those guys have a variety of toys and not all are inflatable. I used to get a glimpse of them heading out from Rudee Inlet in 25'-30' cigarette style boats. Twin mercurser I/O that sounded like the props where being turned by big block V8s. They'd go out in groups of 4 with about a 1 minutes gap between them. I never did know how fast they went, but from the time they cleared the inlet to the time you couldn't see them anymore seemed like only a minute or two. They get all the cool toys.......

Those boats you are talking about are from Special Boat Unit 20, I used to be stationed there, it's part of Little Creek Amphib./ Base
