Default '85 v20 I/O total refit

hey guys,

I'm new to the forum here. I have a 1985 v20 I/O with merc. 170mr. it was passed down to me from my grandfather who was the original owner and bought it new. Luckily he kept ALL records, manuals and paperwork which I now have. I have been running the boat for a couple years now and making repairs as needed and have made a lot of modifications. to the boat and motor.

I have been putting aside some $$ and plan on doing a total refit of the boat. demo'ing it all down to the hull and starting over with a custom finish including converting it to a CC with a hard t-top and building a new custom cap. I am still in the drawing stages and waiting for the right opportunity to start the project.

In the mean time I was curious to see if anyone has done this in the past or is looking to do it in the future??? I would love to see pictures of previous rebuilds as well as share my drawings and concepts with everyone and share the project stages once I start

Welcome to the site. Good luck with any mods you might make to your boat. You're lucky to ha e a boat that you know the complete history of. Most people don't. There are some really skillful people on here that can and will help you. Just remember that all projects are exactly that. LONG TERM projects.. so don't get discouraged and quit. Take small bites ..set little doable goals for yourself ...that way you're always getting done with something.
