Default High speed pickup location

I have two high speed pickups to mount in the bilge. One for the livewell, one for the raw water washdown. Any input on exactly where?

I've read that 18"-24" from the transom is ideal and I'm thinking around 10" or so from the hull center line. One on each side.

Make sure they won't be on bunks or rollers... Make sure the live well pick up will be in the water at speed.

I believe I have that covered. I mainly want to make sure I will not disturb the water in front of the prop.

I would think that is a non issue since the prop is a couple inches below the hull.

I would think you would want to make sure they are not in line with your transducer.

I hadn't thought about the transducer. It may be a tight fit, between the intakes, prop, transducer and tabs...

I may put both of the intakes on the same side.

The transducer is the only thing on that list that would be an issue IMHO.

I would definately put them together...

Don't say that. My neighbors 270 SEARAY has a pickup that is about 2 inches above and outboard of the port engines outdrive, but you can't trim it up without the prop blowing out on that side.

Yeah, I've heard of intakes disrupting the props water before.
