I've been searching all about and can't find the capacity plate info for a 1987 Fisher 20. Found it for an 18 and a V20. Found a cool place that will print them up for you, but no info on my particular boat. Found a thread with several questions posed and no answer to the cap plate question.
It seems to be that a common question for people restoring these boats. So why not collect all the info and put it at the top where it can be found easily?

But that would slow down posting traffic when every month or so the new guy asks the maximum hp for his new to him 35 year old boat. Then someone kinda new says one thing, then someone who's been around says something different, then someone says something about flywheel vs prop shaft horse power ratings on a Johnny rude 235, or an OMC 115 SeaDrive, etc, then someone says to do a search for some link they posted in the link section back in 2006, then the link no longer works, then someone recommends some online sign/decal shop they used and were real happy with, then the thread gets derailed when someone asks that guy if it was him they saw at Frying Pan Shoals 2 weeks ago in the cuddy model with the blue bimini top, then.............................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ....................
Holy cow here it is LOL! http://wellcraftv20.com/community/sh...ad.php?t=14597

Night Sailor, best I can explain it is a capacity plate ain't no different than Confederate money. Not worth the crap it was printed on.
However, some jurisdictions have made it their rule to require them basically to make it easier for the policing authority to write tickets. I've had two boats that had bogus capacity plates made for them for the purpose of overhorseing the boat to try and fool the game warden or coast guard. The "History" section is probably the closest thing you are going to get. But it does not have weight/passenger capacities. http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/history

So the 1985 Fish20 weighs 1920lbs (V20 norm) max hp of 235 and 60gal fuel capacity.
The 1989 Fish20 weighs 2150lbs, max hp of 235 and 60gal fuel capacity. You would expect your 1987 to be the same.
