Default Redneck carb test stand

I rigged this up trying to figure out why this carb was flooding at idle with the idle mixture screw closed. I wasn't really setup to video, so it's a crappy video, but it gives you an idea of how one works.

Negative, I'm a bold one. It's my shop vac, so I don't care if it gets some gas in it. That, and I had it filled with sand to absorb the fuel that did get sucked into the vac.

This is a chinese carb off of a roketa dune buggy. They drilled the holes for the intermediate circuit wrong, and if the throttle blade was open just 1 turn on the idle screw, it was pulling from the intermediate circuit. So I drilled a 1/16" hole in the butterfly to allow it more air with the throttle closed so I could adjust the idle mixture. The other problem with it is that the orifice for the primestart is to large for the fuel side, and it floods when the primestart is open. This thing is just a fine example of chinese crapmanship. He has complained about how this buggy has run since new, and it all has been carb problems the dealer wouldn't fix. Other than having to hold the throttle open when it's cold until the primestart closes, it now runs awesome. I hate having to find machining errors, and hate even more having to find solutions to the machining errors.

Whoa... Ferm.... The motor on a shop vac is not explosion protected ..... Get the right mixture of gas fumes in there and you may be purchasing a new shop vac on your way home from the emergency room..... Very cool on the test stand and subsequent mods to repair but be careful man!

Not really, I had the shop vac outside the shop just in case it did light off.
