Default New Evinrude G2

Don't really know what to say about this. Kinda ugly, looks like a cross between an old Chrysler and a Scott Atwater. at least it can be color coordinated to your boat.Lots of plastic. Impressive that they can get 300 while running 87 octane. Supposed to be all new from Bombardier. 558 for a 20" isn't bad at all. I'm still surprised they haven't come out with a four stroke.

Shame on you..... Saying that thing looks like a Chrysler or Scott Atwater is a disservice to those motors. ...... That is far and away the ugliest thing to ever be bolted to the back of a boat....

Holy crap...I was expecting something that resembled an outboard motor.

Chrysler's were pieces of art compared to that.

Cool

Truthfully, that's just plain fugly. I know it's a new design, etc, but what the F are they thinking? Vertical lettering? Difficult to remove the cowl? I wonder if they every read about the Edsel from Ford. It was a good car, but it's looks killed it. I'm betting that even though you can color coordinate this engine to your boat it's NOT going to sell well...

It is growing on me. The new clamp is nice. New lower is nice. They make a ton of midrange power and if the advertisements are correct they are light.. It cost them plenty to bring this to market. What does Yamaha,Mercury, Suzuki, Tohatsu got that is new? Oh I know you can get a Mercury Verado in three colors now.. Or Mercury will charge you more for the same motor and brand it "PRO" with fancy graphics PALEEEESE!
300 hp and 550 lbs.. Without a compressor or supercharger to fail. Attention Mercury Outboards, you paying attention??

Although I don't particularly like this, new designs often aren't appealing at first, but grow on you over time...I did the customize option in the site, did all in white with a grey accent and that took some of the UUgly away.

Spare you could do one in all black w/a grey accent and look like one of your beloved Mercs!!...

Obviously I wont ever have this problem, but I would imagine when a guy goes in to order his new 300K quad engine boat, he may not like the looks of those and choose one of the sleeker looking brands.

BUT, if I knew how those rich guys think, I'd be one of them.

were I in THAT market, two 557's from seven marine would likely be my choice over 3 of those atrocities.

I thought it was ugly at first. What is winning me over is the internal steering, the near 90 deg tilt, and the redesign of the motor to even out heat distribution. Unfortunately these are heavy motors. I wonder how well a V20 would carry one.
