Default Drain plugs

Yesterday when we came back in my son Colby went to pull the bilge drain plug and the whole brass sleeve came out. Is there a better replacement for this then a new brass sleeve. I'm also going to be replacing the upper drains where the motor is mounted. Is there a better replacement then the ones that came off the boat?

Yeah...the brass screw-in type...a threaded flange has 3 screws holding it to outside of transom, then plugged when in use w/a brass, screw-in plug....you sure need to DRY OUT the wood core inside the hole where the sleeve came out or it will continue to rot...DRY IT OUT first, then mix up some epoxy resin and seal the wood surface before you install the gabbard(SP) style plug I described above...for the splashwell drains, if you can dry them out as best you can and seal them in place would be easiest...if ya gotta remove them, dry out surrounding wood REAL GOOD and install new brass sleeves if you can figure a way to curl the end to hold it in place...I never have...there is also a plastic, two-piece replacement for that use..post up some pictures of what ya do...we picture hos around here...

Here's the plug I put in the '84 I have now...

This is the style I'm referring to above...
