Default New Jersey ocean fishermen - Friday 6/21

Assuming my new to me etec is rigged and test runs fine I plan to fish Friday.

Most likely from Shark River northward.....for seabass, fluke, striper....... searobin, oyster crackers, bergals, skates, undersized backfish, bluefish.......what else might we catch ?

Haven't fished in weeks ....lucky story though, I pulled right in with a fleet including the big Mohawk party boat in close to the beach for fluke. Must have dropped my jig right on the head of a fluke because instantly set the hook on a nice one......measured 22". Onlookers might have been thinking " Geezzzz this guy just pulled in and bam !! It was funny. Didn't have another keeper for over an hour.

Maybe Step Up will be out there too.

Welcome to call my cell 609-790-6226 for report and likewise if you're out there. I usually listen to ch 68, and other channels.

Will be trying the usual spots, including my son's favorite fluking area.

Congratulations on the new engine. You will be amazed at how quiet the etec is and how easy it starts. Hope to see you out one of these days. I fish around Sandy Hook. Good luck on the fishing trip!

Thanks Buckey - so far, all I've done is start the engine on the muffs and I'm impressed.

Starts like a modern car - nearly instantly, with a quiet powerful sounding rumble, no smoke, and no vibration. Rigged with 18" Rebel prop, new 1000 CCA battery, new fuel line, new oil tank, new wire harness, new start switch.

Tomorrow - plan is to be on the ocean.
