Default Friends

I was re-reading the post about Life. About parents. About life with elderly parents.

We are on a computer site. With Gentleman from around the country. We all have different backgrounds, we are from very different parts of a Great Country,

But we are all Friends, we all share common life episodes. We all love our country and our families. Our communities, where ever they may be located.

If someone had told me twenty years ago I would be part of such a community I would have laughed. Being barely computer literate.

Now I say this, thank you all of you guys for being an extended family. People I can share life with.Thank for being my friends.

I am proud to know such great guys from all over the Country and call them my friends. Many of which I talk with on the phone on a regular basis.

What a great thing this site has been for me and for allowing me to make friends, many of which I have never met. But I am bound and determined to meet as many as I can.

I am proud to know you.

Great post Willy!

When I picked up my V-20, the previous owner told me about this site. I knew right away on the first day that I logged in that I had found a group of guys that were passionate about a neat old boat and very willing to help a fellow boat nut get his relic fixed up. I noticed very quickly that there wasn't ANY fighting or insults and even when opinions conflicted the discussion was still clean and without personal attacks..... What I didn't catch right away was that this group really DOES treat each other like family..... Someone's truck breaks down and we all put out heads together to figure out the repair... Someone needs a sounding board to help deal with a painful time in life, the folks here are right on point...... Some unnamed person does something REALLY stupid and ends up laid up and feeling sorry for himself, Nothing here except sound advice and kind words of support!

I too am very proud to know you guys!

I have loved boats since I was 5 years old. The sound of water on the hull. The motion of the boat on water. The feel of the boat as it hits the waves … It’s like watching water run down a river, I could watch it all day. Just to float on a boat on a hot summer’s day, even if it’s at dock… I just love boats and boasting…

I think you all feel the same way..

Damn Willy, now I feel all mushy and stuff inside...

But what you said is spot on. This is an extended family. And like all familys we don't always agree. Case in point, the person that brought me to this site is RWilson. Two people could not be further apart in their political thinking, and yet, I owe him a debt that I can never repay.
I look forward to the day when the three of us can go fishing, because I cannot think of anyone that I would rather go out fishing with. (Well, with the exception of certain young ladies perhaps)... But you get the idea. This is a family, and I really love you guys.

(But you still can't have my Bud light)
