Default mounting a t top

Hey guys,

Question: I want to eventually add a t-top to my cc, what is the best way to mount one?

I have seen them mount to the floor, and to the console. The factory console does not strike me as strong enough to hold a top, and I don't want to use screws, I have learned that if it is screwdd into wood on a boat it will come loose, and last thing I need is my top to take flight when I am doing 75 mph.

I was thinking of building an aluminum bracket that spanned across the stringers and through bolt through the sides of the stringers. On top of these brackets would be aluminium sockets that come up through the floor I could then weld my ttop frame into those sockets.

Im going thru the same process now customizing my t-top. T-tops that are strictly screwed to the floor eventually rip out or come loose. you want the t- top mounted in a few places, one being the floor, two being a standoff bracket on both sides of the console, and three a shear brace type mount on the front of the console. If she takes flight mounted like that than maybe you go a little slower!!! lol!!! Our v20 consoles are not structually sound enough to have a console mounted top. If you have access to the bottom of your floor then thru bolting with a backing plate is ideal.
