Could it be that I asked every stupid question we can think of ?
How about the new Yami 300 4 stroker ? Supposed to be much lighter........ Figure fully trimmed it should push a V21 about 58 mph. Please - no one respond to this thread. I'm even sick of it myself.......... |

no ones got any money to spend on fuel or go fast items. Have you priced the Yamaha's? personally I've been reading the reports of the new Yamaha 200, it looks like it could be the perfect motor for a V20, just cost too much for me

I run a carb'd 150hp on my V21 and it's ok. The newer etec 200 or optimax 200 probably uses less fuel but to your point - it's a lot of $$$. |

How fast on a V22 pilothouse center console with a shortened cuddy, and two 2.5L Merc 200s on a bracket? I am figuring 75. at least.....

Hydrofoils you say? Rocket boosters? UBHYSTRY's kinda set the bar IMHO. Yup, there it is. Slightly north of 70 IIRC with an hopped up stroker SBC and an A-drive. Twins on a light one would be fun, albeit expensive. I still think a light enough 300 outboard might see 70.

I saw an Opti XS 300 3.2L Stroker on a Blazer Bay the other day. What an outboard.

I think we need a "How slow...." thread. For instance, when I was using my 9.9hp I was able to put along at .9 mph. I'm thinking with a Sears Eska 1.2 hp air-cooled 2-stroke outboard (tuned just right) I could get to .3 mph but concerned about how the V will handle the lack of speed. Can these hulls handle it? Do you think any water that hits the deck will drain forward as opposed to aft toward the scuppers or do I need to add some ballast in the rear???
Am I over-thinking again? HELP!
