Default Ethanol Sucks!

Had my V20 out awhile ago and had some trouble: Steering cable broke (got one on order) Helm and cable per this boards advise.

Been sitting awhile then tried to start today, well won't start for nothing. Tried setting points, nope no start, tried gas down carb, nope no start, tried moving distb timing, nope no start.

Then took off fuel water separator filter to check and see for water. Darn gum it! Water in the bottom of the glass jar.

I poured the gas back into the filter sans water and it started right up! So I have a E10 problem with water in my tank.

So my questions is: Do i have to empty the tank and clean it OR can i add some staybil to the gas in the tank and maybe change the filter a few times?

Thanks...

The water will usually be at the bottom of the tank. If you haven't used the boat for a while when you primed it you sucked up the water from the bottom of the tank. Check the filter again, there may have only been a little water and you wont have to worry. If you see more water remove your fuel sender, get a tube to the bottom and syphon a few gallons. Check what you've syphoned for water. If it looks good change the filter and go. Adding stabil helps but really wont remove large amounts of water from old gas.
