Default New member with new boat

Hi all...new member here because I got my pattys on a 1972 V-20 with an '86 225 Johnson VRO on a roller trailer. Boat was asleep at a local boat yard in MI and hadnt been run in 4 years. $1500 later the whole deal was mine. Hull in in great shape, solid transom and deck. The top deck cover, seats and helm need a little work, but otherwise in solid shape. There is also a T-top in great shape minus any fabric for a cover. Soooo...can you all please share some insight on some of the trouble spots for this boat for me to keep an eye on? This will be my 2nd '86 225 VRO so I know that pretty well, (already took the VRO off), but the boat and design is completely new to me. With a little help and elbow grease the boat should be dragging spoons for salmon in Lake Mi shortly. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. This is a great forum with endless information!!!

Do you have a pic of your T-top or know who made it? I just redid my canvas from A-Team Marine in Titusville, Florida out of Sunbrella. It cost me $285 including the lace and shipping. It is defiinitely made well.

I just got my fabric back last week from a local Amish place called Miller's Canvas. $170 for Sunbrella canvas, (80" x 74" top) and line to lace it. This guy always has a boat in his yard doing canvass for someone, a great job and price, too. I will get pics posted soon, am anxious to get feedback on the boat.

Thanks for the info though, forgot to mention I had that repair in process.

How about the all around for the t-top? Need to find one that mounts on the top rail and in the back of the t-top. You would think this would be easy to find but all ZI have seen is a black plastic rail mount; and I'm looking for an aluminum or ss mount.

Welcome! Beautiful part of the country you're in. I spent some of the happiest weeks of my youth up in the Grand Traverse Bay region.

Look forward to hearing more about your V20 and seeing some pics.
