Default Scallops near Steinahatchee

Scallops were pretty thick in the area around Little Grassy island between Horseshoe and Steinahatchee. Visibility beyond 6 feet of depth was horrible. Boats were everywhere. On low tide moving closer to shore in 4 to 5 feet seemed to be the easiest gathering and best visability.

On another note the swollen Suwannee is plum filthy. Visibility is about 4 inches in front of your face. Water looks solid red for a change. It has been clear due to low levels for years. TS Debby did her thing.

Thanks for the report. I'm bummin that I won't be able to go this year. Last year was our first time, and I wanted to make it an every year thing. Def next year. We should do a raft-up there. There's a bunch down here that'd go, I think.

Had to cancel a trip today due to rain. Fighting dirty water and 500 boats on the weekends. Scallops are there, but you need good scallopers. Once the water cleans up we'll be fine. Can't wait to go north again.
