Default power trim and tilt switch.

I have three wires coming out of the top of my trim motor(black, red, blueish green) what kind of switch do I need to mount a single switch on my dash? I also like the switches that are on the coiled wire so you can mount them to the spokes on your stainless wheel. Any links would be helpful. Thanks guys

It's such bullsh!t on the prices of marine in general and marine electrical in particular. THe exact same type of switch in automotive applications is less than $4. DPDT switches are cheap. You think that 38 is bad, look up a switch for Bennett trim tabs...80-100 dollars for the fancy ones. I just bought 2 automotive, waterproof, on-off-on DPDT switches for under $5 for both of them for my trim tabs. I work too hard for my money to throw it away on such bs..

wiring for the trim motor control circuit is pretty straight forward. Red is 12v in, blue is trim up out. Green is trim down out. It doesn't matter on the control circuit if you have a 2 wire or three wire trim motor, that only matters at the relays. Any momentary switch will work for trim as long as its rated for the amperage(pretty low on the control side). The go fast crowd likes to run trim up buttons on the wheel, and trim down buttons on the floor, when it gets too loose, its hard to let go f the wheel to press a button, all you have to do is push on the floor to trim it back down. You can wire up a rocker on the wheel, lavorsi uses their military type rockers mounted in the spokes of the wheel. Did you notice the turn signal type at T-H
