I don't have a cuddy, but I used Starboard to make a box and faceplate. It is large and deep enough that I can stack three of the Plano plastic organizers inside. It also houses the stereo/amp and a cig light/map light. Switchco makes some good/cheap plastic latches I found online and I used piano hinge on the doors. I needed to finish the edges on the back of the console but decided to cover up using the faceplate as trim. If you have the room they make the drop in style tackle tray holders in several sizes. I will try to get a better picture. Starboard aint cheap.

Wow Ridge that is an awesome job, looks great ! i just dont have that option with the cuddy. I was thinking of building one behind my pedistal seat. problem with that is i like to spin the seat around and sit while i anchor in the rips for Bass. I'm thinking my only option is to remove the pedistal and build a combo tackle station and storage box, this way i can still spin the seat and have a place for my feet. i'll start higher at the seat area and then step it down at the tackle station. thats how it was built on my wellcraft coastal 236. That Starboard is just so expensive. I have a sheet of Azek but i just dont think it's ridgid enough

Absolutely, vinyl covered wood is a good option. I suggest PT
Gratuitous Plug !! I got a steal on the Starboard back in 2007.I instantly thought of the tackle trays, not realizing exactly what wellcraftv20step was referring to. I got you now. I still need to make some tool holders and under gunnel rod holders for the V. It is kinda plain jane at the moment and without storage for gaff, deck brush, dive flag etc.

The pictures. It is a big glovebox 18" deep. The right hand side could not be as deep due to rigging so I made it a place for wire access and terminator blocks.

The time it took to make the faceplate was near 40 hours. Knowing that one mistake with hand tools and it goes to the scrap pile. The doors are 1/2" and the faceplate is 3/4" with a 1/4" lip recess to catch the door. Someone with a 3 axis CNC router could program the computer and be done in a couple minutes. Man I gotta clean the V. Not up to LS standards.
