Default 1973 v20 center console fuel tank

I am a newbie to this site as well as to this 1973 v20 center console i just picked up for a cool 1000--even though i have own boats in the past--this boat has taken my interests more--not just because of the design but the awesome forums i have been reading about this v20--as you can see the boat is in great shape--the transom was redone professionly--my concern--my question is pertaining to the fuel tank underneath the center console seat--would anyone have any info on this tank since their is not one now--as to how large it was--etc;also i am open to opinions on how large of a outboard and what kind of outboard to put on this awesome craft--thanks guys--deeply appreciated--dennis

Really, how can you beat buying something that looks that good for $1000.00 Motor or not. Not sure on the fuel capacity of the center consoles....somebody will be along shortly that will probably know.....Your post kind of got shuffled down a few spots and the guys around here cant see jack if its not right in front of there faces....(their gettin' kind of old)

The general consensus is that a 150 is a perfect match for a V-20 although there are many with 175's, 200's and 225's and one nut job with a 250 on his CC.

Welcome to the forum.....keep up the pics.

I thought that the early ones had 18 gal saddle tanks where they put the rod holders when they moved the tanks under the deck... no? At any rate, I think MJ is correct on the 48 gal tank under the deck.
