Default NC Trip

So heading up to the mountains with the kids on their first real road trip late in May.

Staying in Banner Elk and will be hitting some of the local parks with the kids. Grandfather Mtn., Tweetsie RR, Linville Caverns, Gem Mining...

Any recommendations on good eats around the area, even as far as Asheville as we will be in Asheville one day too.

Heard of some place called 12 bones in Asheville, but just from one person.

Be careful.......you may fall in love with the area and never leave.

In Boone, eat at the "Daniel Boone Inn", it is home cookin served family style (big bowls of food you pass around), it is slap yo mamma good.

Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Linnville Falls is "Famous Louises Rockhouse Restaurant". Also slap yo mamma good.

I grew up in the NC mountains so ask away about anything you need to know.

Mama gettin slapped up pretty good in them there hills!!!...LOL!!

When you go to Asheville, DO NOT arrive hungry...EXPLORE DOWNTOWN UNTIL YOU GET HUNGRY...lots of great little independent places there w/wide array of eats...

And go ahead and plan on touring Biltmore House

When you leave Miami, stick a For Sale sign on your house, cuz you won't wanna go back...one drive down the Blue Ridge Pkwy will do it...had a cousin grew up in Miami and was amazed by all the hills and curves up here...sounds like you may have been here before...peeps in S FL don't normally just pick this area to visit...but for whatever reason, you've chosen well...
