Need Country Boy advise

Listen normally in the outdoors stuff people come to me for advise, but I have a Skunk living around my house, he got one of my pups a couple of weeks back and every couple of days I get a good wiff of him right around my deck area. Now I found a approx 5 - 6 inch hole which I believe may be his den right near the deck.
Whats the best way to make him not like it here anymore, or get rid of him.

I have had a lot of success with believe or not using rags soaked in a pine cleaner or a mint spray found at pet stores for fleas...

A have-a-heart trap and a barrel of water

I use to take a .22 and that would make them leave also

But I have a friend who lives in the woods, He takes some women stockings and makes bags on moth balls and hangs them under his deck, porch and sheds, no more wood chucks or skunks!!

You can also buy (at most garden shops) fox urine. (You cannot smell it) Foxes are the natural predators of skunks, cats, chucks, etc. It comes in a squeeze bottle and you just outline/spray the area you want to keep the pests out of.. they smell the urine, think it's a fox marking it's territory, think it's not safe to go there and go somewhere else to live, leaving you garden (and porch) alone. You'll need to renew the treatment about once a month and more often if it rains a lot, but after a while the pests get the idea and stear clear of your place anyways..

Well Fox urine is something I know about and it definetly smells and strongly as a matter of fact, hunters and trappers use it as a cover scent. Unless they do something to take the stink out of that product.
Not only that but I already have a den of them here so I don't think that one will work.

Wierd.. The stuff I use is oderless... maybe they do something to it at the processing plant? Damned if I know, but I know that I use it around my tomatos every year and it keeps the critters at bay.

Oh well, then I'd go with the moth balls suggestion Willy... Unless it's for food, I like to not harm things if possible.

They eat my outdoor cats cat food all the time, so I'm guessing that cat food will work just fine. Question is, after you catch him, how are you going to get close enough to move the trap? I'm thinking he's not gonna be a happy camper. Seems to me it's like catching a tiger by the tail.. it's great until you try to turn him loose. LOL

PS, have you tried calling animal control and letting them deal with it?

I will not approach it, Mr. Remington Double Duce will initiate my action. Actually had it ready by the door for a few weeks but apparently this a Dracula type Skunk as he is completely nocturnal, makes his appearance by scent alone usually when I sit down with the CEO, or company on my wrap around porch at night with cocktail in hand.
