That is good news indeed. Congrats.. The lower pitch prop really did the trick. Be nice on break in and motor may go up a little in RPM if it is really tight, but I doubt it will go up more than a hundred RPM or so. Does the Yamaha have tilt and trim and are you trying for WOT with the motor trimmed up? It doesn't sound too bad at if it planes off at 2800. I like that engine, it is light for the hp. Very nice, keep us posted..

That is great that it is working for you. What is the max recommended rpm for that motor?

If its 5500 or so, you may have to drop back one more on the prop pitch to get there.

Most 2 strokes like RPM and won't last if lugged. Check the mfr's recommended RPM range, shouldn't drop below the bottom end of the RPM range with a full load. Sounds like this might be an economical boat. I've rode in a V20 with a Johnson 85 hp V4 engine, planed off nicely and ran 28 mph.

Sebastian can be downright menacing at times. I think you have a winner there. Keep her and maybe shift some weight around to get the stern back in the water. OR I can go along, ballast is my specialty.
