Default Current

Is there any way to know a little about surface current before going out?

Anyone know if tide affects the amount of surface current over a reef?

Went out yesterday and there was a crap load of current. Came back and someone said that too much current and yellowtails won't appear.

Is there a knob in the cuddy cabin where I can turn current down?

I usually do not fish the reefs when there is a large change in tides "spring tide". Take a look at the tide chart, try to avoid reef fishing on days with a large fluctuation from low to high tide. On the spring tide days I usually try to find some slow clean water inshore.

On a spring tide there is way more water flowing making it hard to anchor and the amount of weight need to get straight down is ridiculous.
