Default Voltage Regultor Wiring

I picked up a voltage regultor yesterday. My engine does not currently have a regulator so I can't do the typical method of remove and replace wire for wire. I know I connect the yellow wires to the 2 yellow wires going to the rectifier.

My questions are:

How and where to connect the 2 red wires of the regulator?

How and where to connect the gray wire of the regulator?

Can I connect the regulator wires directly to the rectifier posts or do I need to splice in prior to the rectifier?

Thanks

Carl

Ummm...these things usually come with instructions... (I know, I know, no one ever reads the instructions)... But we'll make an exception this time if you read them quietly in a corner and don't tell us.. That way we won't have to kick you out of the "it's a guy thing" club.

Seriously though, there are probably a hundred different votlage regulators I've seen through the years.. and all of them are wired similarly, but not identically. You really need to follow the makers instructions. If you connect the wrong wire to the rectifier you will fry it in less than a second. That gets expensive. nuff said...

Carl,

If I were you I would look at the manufactures website (if they have one) for a wiring diagram. If you can't find them online, I would call the manufacture. They should have something out there with wiring instructions. If you have done both with no answers, one of the boys here should be able to help.

Regulator is installed and wired.. I gave it a test drive today and it maxed out at 15V anywhere from 4K to WOT. All eletronics were happy and stayed on.

Thanks for all your help

Carl
