Sliding Hatch repairs....

I read the big thread on the sliding hatch repair and am confused.

I have the 1989 V20 and I think I'm missing parts to my sliding hatch. See pictures below. I have the teak strips to keep the bigger hatch from flying away. But the way it slides under each other it just does not seem right.

The smaller one with the black plastic piece, looks like something has been broken off, maybe this is something that hooks the larger piece to help it drag?

Any help would be appreciated.
