any one know where i can purchase spark plug wires for a 6 cylinder out board, mercury
I want to change mine , one wire is arcing

What type of coils do you have? Mine has 5 coils that you can just replace the wire and the other coil wire is part of the coil. If you have the newer style coil you should be able to go to the auto parts store and get a set of universal wires and cut to length.
That's the easiest way I can think of, other than buying wires from an outboard dealer.

there 6 wires one fron each plug to a coil, there 5 inches long and you cant use auto wires because marine wires are stainless steel inside auto wires are not, i did by a set from overtons but i cant seem to locate them on there web site

When I had the carbs rebuilt my wires were arcing to the shop owner cut me a 3 foot piece of bulk wire he had and I reused the parts from the old wires. Note the old wires said high performance marine and they were carbon centered the new ones are stainless centers and there is a big difference in performance...........

I used auto wires and they have done fine for the past 3 years. I did sell the boat this past summer but I know the guy who owns the boat and it still running fine.
