mud bouy in nj

today i went out fishing and i live in nj, so i set my gps to my favorite spot[the mud bouy] and as i get there theres no yellow can that marks it just a green number 3 can, was i in the right spot or is my gps screwing up, where did the yellow can go that marks the mud biuy, any one know, please help me or am i going crazy
