|  reasons for low rpms on v8 chryslers 
			
			gentlemen, have twin 1986 chrysler v8s 225hp 318s. problem= 3600 stbd 3800 port when should be up to 5000. engines sound good, but seems to be over propped, what to look for before changing out props. thanks richard

			start with a compresion test, check fire on each cylinder, check carbs for full throttle opening. If you haven't had the bottom scrubed lately, it needs to be done

			Are you sure about the 5000 WOT? That sounds high to me, I thought it was only 4000-4400 for WOT on em.

|  225 chrysler rpms 
			
			gentlemen, believe you are right in max rpms, will check with mechs, have to idle at 900 so as not to stall when docking. bottom cks out ok, originally had idle set at 600, but would stall, when going into gear,   cleaned gas tank, new filters, she should be alright, going to do a compression ck to see valve status, any other cks would appreciate. thank you!  richard |
