Hi All,

Just an initial post (as an owner) about my new V! Got some help with the last one I looked at and decided to pass. Found a 1980 with a Johnson V4 (130 I think). Runs great, and overall is pretty clean. Solid all around, a few dings here and there, a few stress cracks on top of gunwale, but nothing beyond cosmetics for the most part.

I'm digging in on the motor, confirmed it had a full tear down and rebuild last fall by local shop (talked with the mechanic), but seems to have a 'replacement' engine cover, hence the question of the actual motor HP.

Anyway, will get some pix when I pick it up and get it home this weekend or next week)!

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the replies all. I'm located just outside Providence, RI.

We took a ride yesterday, and I was able to confirm via a local Johnson dealer that the motor is a 130HP model. Boat ran fantastic, and rode very nice. Water was relatively calm, so no real feel for how it'll be in the normal 2-3' seas in Narragansett bay.

Working on plans to bring it up to Rhode Island over the weekend.

Tnltracy,

Welcome to the site and you will find much valuable info on here, as many have, including myself. You will love the V-20 when you get it out in that good old Rhode Island chop & swells! I run out of Point Judith and we fish Block Island and all the way down to Fisher's Island. Pick your days and you will be fine as they say. Enjoy your new toy.
